We are a dedicated team who strive to support our clients in achieving their objectives.

With expertise covering all aspects of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services, we are well placed to take a rounded view of how we can best support you.

Andrew Hodgetts BA, FCA – Technical Director

Having trained with the city office of a top 15 firm, Andrew moved to a managerial role with a regional office of Smith & Williamson. Since joining Herbert Parnell, in 1995, he has assumed overall responsibility for the technical standards within the firm.

Initially from an audit background, Andrew has significant experience in working with small and medium sized businesses and charities. He is particularly skilled in assisting with the development and implementation of accounting systems and general management reporting.

Andrew is the treasurer of the National Association of Specialist Dental Accountants and Lawyers (NASDAL) and specialises in all areas affecting dentists, whether principals, partnerships, companies or associates.

He has also acted as the Financial Controller for the UK subsidiary of a European quoted company. He is actively involved with several of the firm’s international clients, giving him opportunities to utilise his language skills (French/German).

Adrian Peckham BSc, FCA – Managing Director

Adrian has significant hands on experience of running businesses, including their acquisition and disposal.

After qualifying with a top 15 firm in Guildford and Sutton, Adrian spent 10 years in industry as a partner in a wholesale and retail business. He then went on to roles as the financial director for two service sector businesses, before returning to the accountancy profession in 1998.

His primary client responsibility is advising owner managed businesses, from new start-ups to multi £million turnovers.

He has a particular interest in the property sector and works closely with his clients, supporting them with his commercial insight and experience.

In addition to Herbert Parnell, Adrian holds several other directorships.

Lance Redman BSc, FCA FCCA – Audit Director

Lance joined Herbert Parnell in 2001 from a top 10 national practice, where he was an audit manager.

Although he is responsible for the larger audits of both limited companies and charities, Lance enjoys working alongside the proprietors of businesses of all sizes to give a broad range of tax and business advice.

He has acted for a number of his current clients for nearly thirty years and aims to establish long-term business relationships wherever possible.

Lance has extensive experience advising charities and churches, whether that be assisting with their bookkeeping functions or independent examinations of the financial records.  

Lance is married with three grown up daughters. Outside of work, he is actively involved in the life of his church, watches most of London Irish’s home games and visits Brittany as often as possible.

David Whiteman ACCA – Tax Manager

David joined Herbert Parnell in 2015 as a client relationship manager, advising small and medium sized entities. He has over 16 years’ experience working closely with a diverse range of owner-managed businesses, across a wide range of sectors.

David now manages our tax department, with a focus on private client tax. He advises a varied portfolio of clients including trusts, self-employed individuals, partnerships and high net worth individuals. 

Nick Day BA (Hons) – Client Relationship Manager

Nick joined Herbert Parnell in 2007 as a client relationship manager. Having initially trained with a top 30 firm, he now has over thirty years’ experience of working in local practices.

Nick has long standing relationships with a varied portfolio with clients ranging from sole traders to international groups.  

Joanna Flashman BA (Hons), ACCA, CTA – Client Relationship Manager

Joanna started her accountancy career at Herbert Parnell in 2013 and qualified in 2016. Subsequently she obtained her Chartered Tax Adviser qualification and now specialises in advising owner-managed businesses and individuals with both their accounting and taxation needs.

James Lee BSc (Hons), ACCA – Client Relationship Manager

James started his accountancy career at Herbert Parnell in 2014, qualifying in 2017. James provides a wide range of accounting and audit services, including business development support, to a diverse portfolio of clients including charities in the education sector.

Robert Webster FCCA – Client Relationship Manager

Robert joined Herbert Parnell in 2015 as a client relationship manager. He qualified in 1996 and spent the early part of his career as a management accountant in both the manufacturing and telecoms industries. With over twenty years’ experience in the profession, he has considerable knowledge of working with entities under the audit threshold, particularly owner-managed businesses.

Caroline Early MA, ACA – Client Relationship Manager

Caroline qualified with Ernst & Young in London in 1995. At Ernst & Young she was a senior audit manager, predominantly working with large retail clients.

She joined Herbert Parnell in 2010 and specialises in audits and the accounts preparation for larger and more technically complex clients.

Sarah Harris AAT – Payroll and Bookkeeping Supervisor

Sarah has 7 years’ experience in the accountancy profession and has a level 4 Association of Accounting Technicians qualification. Heading up our outsourcing department Sarah manages the payroll and bookkeeping functions, ensuring compliance with auto-enrolment, VAT return submissions and P11d’s.

Tracey Wheeldon – Credit Controller

Tracey looks after the company’s accounts receivable and credit control functions, communicating closely with our clients. Tracey acquired a Professional Certificate in Accountancy through the Open University in 2014 and works alongside Sarah to assist in the preparation of payroll, management accounts and bookkeeping.
